Statistical analysis of fireballs: Seismic signature survey

چکیده
Abstract Fireballs are infrequently recorded by seismic sensors on the ground. If recorded, they usually reported as one-off events. This study is first bulk analysis of largest single fireball data set, observed Desert Fireball Network (DFN) in Australia period 2014–2019. The DFN typically observes fireballs from cm-m scale impactors. We identified 25 time series Australian National Seismograph (ANSN). corresponds to 1.8% surveyed fireballs, at kinetic energy range $10^6$ – $10^{10}$ J. peaks were consistent with calculated arrival times direct airwave or ground-coupled Rayleigh wave caused shock waves atmosphere (either due fragmentation passage Mach cone). Our work suggests that identification events depends both physical properties a (such and entry angle atmosphere) sensitivity instrument. likely detectable within 200 km air distance between station, for used ANSN. each observatory had been accompanied sensor similar sensitivity, 50% could have detected. These statistics justify future consideration expanding camera network into domain.

Polarization Signature of Gamma-ray Bursts from Fragmented Fireballs
We study the polarization properties of the prompt emission of gamma-ray bursts produced by fragmented fireballs. Such fireballs, known in the literature under various names, are made by the superposition of many individual blobs, each of which produces a spike in the light curve. The differences between pulses are due both to the intrinsic diversity in the blobs’ properties and to their orieta...
متن کاملStatistical Analysis on IoT Research Trends: A Survey
Internet of Things (IoT) is a novel and emerging paradigm to connect real/physical and virtual/logical world together. So, it will be necessary to apply other related scientific concepts in order to achieve this goal. The main focus of this paper is to identify the research topics in IoT. For this purpose, a comprehensive study has been conducted on the vast range of research articles. IoT conc...
متن کاملMechanical System Simulations for Seismic Signature Modeling
In this paper we present seismic signature simulations using ground vibration inputs from highfidelity 3-D mechanical system models. Results for an M1A1 and T72 are discussed. By analyzing the simulated seismic signature data in conjunction with the spectral features associated with the vibrations of specific vehicle sprung and un-sprung components we are able to make unambiguous associations o...
متن کاملStatistical Methods for Analysis of Survey Data
In classical sampling theory the targets of inference are finite population parameters (e.g. the mean Ȳ of N fixed values in the population). We give an example of situations, where this approach might not be appropriate. We describe an alternative way of analyzing sample survey data, where observations are considered to be realizations of random variables, and address typical tasks of statisti...
متن کاملStatistical Analysis in Signature Recognition System Based on Levenshtein Distance
The study being presented is a continuation of the previous studies that consisted in the adaptation and use of the Levenshtein method in a signature recognition process. Three methods based on the normalized Levenshtein measure were taken into consideration. The studies included an analysis and selection of appropriate signature features, on the basis of which the authenticity of a signature w...
